The candidate for simple, responsible governance

As a Christian, a husband and father of six, and a businessman, I simply want the City to do the work entrusted to it, to do it well, and to faithfully steward the inheritance and resources that belongs to everyone.

What Salmon Arm needs are safe streets, careful stewardship of taxpayers' money, well-maintained infrastructure, and to remain a beautiful place to raise a family, work or build a business, engage the community around them, and grow old.

I believe municipal government should be practical and accountable. Spend carefully. Enforce bylaws fairly. Fix what needs fixing. Plan for the future without forgetting what made this community worth preserving in the first place.

About me

My roots and interests are broad, but my life is firmly planted here. I am raising six children in this community and running several local and regional businesses. Over the years I have earned undergraduate and master's degrees, learn to speak Mandarin, built multiple businesses, and helped to shepherd a local church—all while building a life and raising a family in the North Okanagan and Shuswap region.

My line of work has given me a close view of land, housing, development, taxation and the practical effects of government decisions. I know what it means to meet payroll, balance competing demands, submit building and development applications, work long hours and make decisions when real money being spent. Whatever I strive to do, I do it well.

I am not running because I want politics to occupy more of our lives. I am running because I think good local government is that which simply enables us to get on with living.

Why local government matters

I have made a point of attending every City Council meeting in 2026 because I wanted to understand the institution before asking voters to entrust me with a seat at the table. What I have seen has reinforced something I already believed: municipal government needs to get back to the basics - safe communities, efficient governance, and building a beautiful city.

Not every problem in Canada can, nor should, be solved at City Hall. But Council can make Salmon Arm safer. It can enforce its bylaws, make open drug use and illegal camping unwelcome in our public spaces, and support the RCMP in doing their job. It can scrutinize spending, lower taxes, maintain roads and infrastructure, make sensible decisions about growth, and preserve the character and beauty of the community we call home.

These aren't glamour ideals. They are the ordinary duties of good government—and we should expect them to be done well.

A vote for me is a vote for conservative values and old-fashioned Canadian grit.
